ABOUT
STEPHANIE

Born on a Greek island, Stephanie’s childhood in the Aegean, formed her design ethos of expressive eclecticism. Celebrated in fine arts, education and design – she was award-winner for her year. Stephanie has an intuitive feel for spaces and design, creating visionary interiors bonding unconventional elements into her irresistibly bespoke style. Unsurprisingly, her multi-disciplinary flair informs her styling and storytelling as she collaborates with architects, designers and artisans to create holistically immersive and coherent environments.

Her home in Sydney’s Inner West, which she shares with her partner, sculptor Adam Laerkesen and son, Matteo has been featured in Vogue Living and leading publications, as has her eponymous brand steph & gaia’s wonderland of hand stitched skulls, horse heads and soft sculptures that celebrate slow, local and natural production.

Stephanie finds inspiring, houses where the past waits to be retold, paintings (her childhood obsession), travel, collecting, music and words, nature and in the quiet backstreets where imaginings are real.
